Testing for gold can be sometimes very difficult, especially for someone who isn’t very experienced in it and who is just starting in the jewelery world. Electronic gold testers seem like a good choice for someone like that, at least that’s how I see it, they are automatic, and automatic is always easier isn’t it? I’m not really familiar with electronic gold testing, can anyone explain to me how is it done exactly?
Electronic testing works by means of measuring the conductivity level of the mild acid solution when being allowed to attack the metal speciment. Depending on how much non-gold content being attacked by the acid, making conductivity higher, the machine calculates the percentage or carat of gold in such specimen.
